FAQ

  • Yes, you can technically drive your own car to Lake Louise, but we strongly recommend using the shuttle service instead. The parking lot fills up extremely quickly during peak season (especially summer mornings and weekends), and many visitors end up being turned around after making the drive up, which is frustrating and wastes precious vacation time.

When you do manage to find parking, fees will apply, but the bigger issue is that you might spend more time circling for a parking spot than actually enjoying the lake! The shuttle service is much more reliable and helps keep traffic flowing smoothly in the area, making the experience better for everyone.

  • You can visit Lake Louise year-round – it's absolutely stunning in every season!

  • Yes, you can! You can follow the Louise Creek Trail all the way down from Lake Louise to Lake Louise Village. It's a pleasant downhill walk that takes you along the creek, offering nice forest scenery and a different perspective of the area.

  • The options range from the simple Lakeshore Trail (perfect for families) to more demanding routes like the Plain of Six Glaciers or Lake Agnes Tea House hikes. Some trails offer stunning glacier views, others lead to alpine lakes, and many provide incredible photo opportunities along the way.

Our team can help you pick a trail based on your adventure level, available time, and what you're most excited to see.

  • Yes, there are public washrooms available at Lake Louise! You'll find facilities conveniently located near the main parking area and visitor services, so you don't have to worry about planning your visit around bathroom breaks.

  • Please use public parking spaces near pickup locations. Follow all local parking regulations and signage to avoid fines. To be respectful of the community, avoid parking in private business lots and don't block residential driveways.
